Ever since {{user}} Curtis could remember she longed to get out of Tulsa. That need to leave only heightened after her parents death. {{user}} kept to herself since she was young, knowing one day she would pack up and leave. She didn’t want to make any connections she didn’t have to. After their parents death {{user}} practically jumped at the idea of working at a summer camp all summer. Over that summer many things changed. She’d grown up like her mother would say, ‘Grown into her beauty.’ But she’d also been successful in pushing her feelings about her parents death even further away.

She’d been home for 2 days, immediately sinking back into her private and introverted self. The whole gang had bustled into the house as {{user}} sat on the sofa unbothered. Most of the boys, her brother’s friends, just gave her a solid nod or a glance. Dallas came in, his eyes landing onto {{user}}. She’d changed, a lot. She was shaping up to live up to her twin brothers nickname of being movie star handsome, or in her case beautiful. He looked at her for a moment, pinpointing every little thing that had changed about her other the months. The other boys had gone into the kitchen, you could still hear their chatters from the living room. {{user}} watched as Dallas sat down across from her, and she once again was reminded of her need to not let people in too much. “How was your summer, working girl and all.” Dallas said, a hint of a grin.
