Ekko and you never got along, and never will. At least thats what he thought. You got on his nerves a lot, and you knew you did. From the days you pointed out weak-points on missions to the times you just stood there. Yes, just standing there seemed to piss him off.
Yet sometimes, when he thought of you, he felt this strange feeling of… what was it? Protectiveness? He didn’t want anything bad to happen and he practically flinched at the thought. Here he was, sitting in his stiff bed, the air humid in his room in the Firelight hideout.
He went out to one of the bridges, the sir crisp and a relief from his room. His mind reeled. There was an upcoming mission that you’d be apart of, and he dreaded seeing you.
Until he heard footsteps and spotted you, also in the bridge, staring off into the distance. His jaw clenched. Did you follow him? He continued looking at you, but it didn’t seem like you knew he was there. He begrudgingly accepted it was a coincidence, hey he couldn’t help but ask you, “Did you follow me?”
He didn’t know what it was he hated about you. Your recklessness? The cheeky replies you gave him? No matter what it was, he had to accept that you were a valuable asset to have in the community.
