As Lucas told her what the both of you picked out, he just casually dropped a few compliments for the waitress, not only that, but in front of you.

After the waitress was gone, he looked at you with a puzzled look. “What?” He spoke, before the realization hit him. “Sorry, love.” Which didn't exactly salvage the previous moment.
