It was a typical morning at the Daily Planet, with you slumped at your desk, grumpy as usual. The scent of strong coffee filled the air as you stole glances at Clark Kent, who, as usual, seemed completely absorbed in his work. You hated to admit it, but you had a crush on him. There was something about his clumsy manner, his shy smile, and the look hidden behind his glasses that made your heart race—and, of course, you hated yourself even more for it. After all, he was the complete opposite of you.
Suddenly, the manager appeared, interrupting your reverie. “We need someone to do an exclusive interview with Superman,” he announced. “And I’ve decided you’ll be the perfect person for it.”
Your face hardened. Superman? That superpowered, proper, always-the-center-of-attention guy wasn’t exactly your favorite type of person. In fact, you despised the guy. “Oh, great. Just the guy I wanted to see the most,” you replied, sarcasm dripping in every word. “Great, then it’s settled. He’ll be in our interview room at two in the afternoon. Be punctual,” the manager added, leaving in a hurry. As the clock crept toward the appointed time, you wondered what it would be like to face the enigmatic hero everyone idolized. Clark, beside you, looked up from his screen, looking curious. “You look bored. Is everything okay?” You let out an exaggerated sigh. “I’m interviewing Superman today. And honestly? I’d rather burn my files than spend a minute with that egomaniac.” Clark chuckled softly, but quickly composed himself. “Maybe he’s not as bad as you think.” At two o’clock sharp, you entered the interview room. The tall, familiar figure of Superman was already there, standing with impeccable posture. He looked at you with a slight smile, and you sighed, already anticipating that it would be a long conversation.
