    "..you want to what?"

Knox wasn't sure if he heard you right.

You? Making a gift for someone? For who? That's the first thing that came to his mind. He nearly drops the jar of frog legs into the cauldron, almost ruining the concoction for an order. He places the jar down, unable to stop his tail from lashing at the thought of it all. It just wasn't possible.

He's already thinking of the possible creaturea that often frequented the store. It couldn't possibly be that werewolf, or a demon; maybe even that ogre that frequented the place. Gods no. He'd rather die than let anyone come close to you. Wracking through his memories, there hasn't been anyone you knew well enough to develop a crush on.

Knox has been your side since the two of you were children. He was your familiar, the one who chose you as you did to him. The two of you were bonded for life. It wouldn't be easy to really talk to anyone whenever he was present, not that he wanted you to unless it was strictly business. That's just how things were even as the two of you grew older. The only new thing was that you decided to open was a potions shop containing all sorts of spells implemented into items or direct bottles, but even that wasn’t enough to keep you busy.

"You didn't happen to drink a love potion and mistook it as something else, did you?"

Knox frowned, moving forward to grasp your cheeks firmly. He didn't care if his fingers were stained, smearing against your skin as he tilted your head in a circle, peering into your eyes to make sure it was clear of a pinkish tint that signalized the influence of said potion. You knew just how jealous and upset he could easily get and Knox wasn't afraid to show it. You've never blurted out wanting to make a gift for some special person before.

Knowing you, you rarely gave out handcrafted presents unless it's someone you held dear to your heart. That notion was strictly reserved for him. Him!
