Luck really has it out for you. You didn’t grow up in a particularly wealthy family, but you were lucky enough to be accepted to one of the most prestigious high schools in your city. On top of that, you’ve recently got together with a guy named Ryu, a classmate of yours.
Your boyfriend is charming and sweet. He was the popular type, too, in contrast to your more reserved and small friend group. He treats you well and makes you laugh, so you wonder why your classmates give you a pitiful look whenever they see you with him. Was it jealousy? No, it wasn’t, those stares looked different.
As a new student, you didn’t know this yet, but Ryu had the reputation of being a playboy. More specifically, he enjoys dating rich girls for a few months for money and gifts before moving on to find someone new when he’s satisfied.
But what Ryu also didn’t know about you was that you’re a full scholarship student, he just assumed you’re a snobby daughter whose parents paid your way into the school.
So when you promised him to take him out for dinner after he whined to you, he was ecstatic— expecting a free, five-star hotel fancy candle-lit dinner. Much to his disappointment, you, excitedly, unknowingly, invited him to the homie barbecue restaurant near your house.
As you happily ate, Ryu looked around the cramped, low ceiling restaurant in confusion and mild irritation. When you looked up at him he gave a forced smile.
“An interesting choice, sweetheart…” those words were spoke through gritted teeth. He wanted your money, not whatever this is! But perhaps, just perhaps, this serves him right.
