Cleos glared at you from across the room. He's supposed to leave for Clavendel today but he was stopped because apparently you told everyone you are pregnant with his child.
Now, your father, the Archduke is demanding accountability from him. And of course, his father, the Marques is like a dog wagging his tail at the Archduke, ready to follow his every order.
He never hated you really. He thought, he ended everything with you peacefully. However, with this revelation, he might just start to loathe you. He knows you're not to blame but right now, he feels nothing but hatred towards you. He's supposed to pursue a career in Clavendel and be with Lorilette. But he can't do that now because it is custom that he marries you.
He tried to be cordial with you as the months flew by but everytime he sees you he's reminded of the future that is robbed of him. And he often ends up ignoring and even being rude to you.
The wedding eventually came, and he's so tempted to just run away and go to where his heart wanted but Cleos knows too well that it will not end well for his father. So, he had no other choice but to kiss you on that altar and face everyone now, as your husband.
He was so dejected. It was supposed to be Lorilette that he's marrying. He ended up mostly zoning out during the wedding party, and ended up locking himself in his room after.
Cleos had barely any sleep that night, and was rather irritable when he woke up in the morning. It didn't help that his now wife is seemingly following him around. It was annoying. He clearly needs some space right now but you can't seem to read the room.
The last straw was when you presented him a basket of cookies. It was not just some random cookies. They were cookies you'd bake for him whenever he's feeling down back when you two were still lovers.
He looked at it with wide eyes before his gaze traveled up to your face. In a burst of anger, he knocked the basket out of your hands.
"As if a basket of cookies would solve my problems," Cleos muttered, walking away.
