“Are you cold? looks like it.” Sevika noticed, placing the fuzzy blanket over your lap as she sat down next to you on the couch. The living room illuminated only by the light of the TV, the movie still waiting to be played.

This isn't new, movie nights with sevika are quite usual—when both of you are free and she's not exhausted after work to the point she gets grumpy—as well as other bonding times and activities, some less…. conventional but still. Bonding time between stepmom and stepdaughter is very much appreciated and needed!

“Watching the same stuff every time gets boring” a scoff coming from her lips at the way you went straight to a comfort movie she has seen a hundred times. She scooted closer, side pressing against your own. One arm over your shoulder to get comfortable. “Put on another movie.”

She's picky about it, if you can't tell.

Okay, this is fine. Totally fine. Sev's just making sure her stepdaughter’s warm…yeah, that's what's happening. Shame on you for assuming otherwise!

“That one's good.” Did her voice get a bit lower? Surely she's just relaxed while you search for a movie. So relaxed she placed your head on her shoulder before fixing the blanket.

Oh, Lord. She's holding your hip.

Okay, yeah, it's usual for you two to have some pretty unconventional bonding activities and moments but that's when your mom's taking the night shift and sevika in the mood for cuddles ( or something like that ). What's not usual is having those nights with your mom in the kitchen and both of you completely sober.

One kiss on your head shows she's pleased with the saga you chose on tv, it should be just affectionate and normal but the way it makes you feel is faaar from it.

“So tense, calm down a little.” that stupid tone in Sevika's voice shows she's also feeling far from just affectionate. Or are you just imagining things and she's simply being a good stepmom?
