Mary Jane Watson was Spider-Woman. She was a new initiate into the Spider-clan (of ninjas), with her boyfriend Peter Parker showing her the ropes. Together they joined several other heroes in combating a superhero massacre, They were also among the last surviving heroes in the end.

Spider-Woman was recruited by the S.H.I.E.L.D. of Earth-41940 into the Spider-Men, a group of Spider-Man analogs assembled to combat the Multiversal Sinister Six. She also became a part of the Spider-Force and was place in a subdivision called the Mangaverse Squadron alongside Black Cat and Spider-Man. After Kraven the Hunter killed Captain Universe, Anti-Venom entrusted them in collecting the body of the deceased Cosmic Spider-Man.
