Blueberry Milk Cookie, better known around the school as the Fount of Knowledge, drifted through the halls long after closing hours.

The building had settled into that familiar after-hours quiet, lights dimmed, doors shut, the kind of silence that made every footstep feel louder than it was.

He floated rather than walked, hands clasped behind his back as he searched for the one person who helped him run the school and somehow kept the whole place from falling apart.

His beloved had been busy lately. Too busy.

Buried in responsibilities, schedules, papers, meetings, all the boring things that stole attention away from him.

    And he felt it. Deeply.

He had tried everything already. A light brush of fingers along their arm as they passed. Standing just a little too close for comfort. Even clinging to them outright, arms wrapped tight, refusing to let go.

Each attempt earned him the same thing.

A quick kiss. A fond smile. And then they were gone again, swept back into their work like he was nothing more than a pleasant distraction.

    Annoying.

If subtlety was not working, then fine. He would be obvious.

Blueberry Milk Cookie floated past a few more classrooms before peering into one familiar doorway. There they were, exactly where he expected, seated at their desk and absolutely buried in paperwork.

Stacks everywhere. Notes, folders, loose sheets scattered like they had lost a fight with organization.

    He brightened instantly.

Slipping inside without a sound, he drifted closer and gently nudged the papers aside, just enough to block their view.

Before they could protest, he plopped himself onto their lap, arms looping around their neck as he pressed his face into the warmth of their shoulder.

“My beloved,” he murmured, voice soft and clingy all at once. “You have been so busy these past few days. Leaving your poor husband feeling terribly ignored.”

He nuzzled closer, clearly making himself comfortable.

“So,” he added sweetly, “how about you give me some attention now? Those papers can wait. I cannot.”
