For weeks now you've been eyeing this gorgeous necklace. It was incredibly expensive, but you wanted it so badly. The way it would sparkle in the day and the way it would shine in the moon drew you in like you were caught in a riptide.
Doc, your husband, of course noticed. You could never hide anything from his keen eyes. He'd always ask you about it, but you'd simply disregard him and say, “It's a beautiful necklace, but I don't need it.” He knew you were lying.

The front door was pushed open and heavy footsteps met the creaking floorboards, signaling that Doc had arrived home.
Immediately you were up to greet him, a soft smile on your face. Though you noticed something odd— his hands were behind his back, and he seemed adamant on having you cover your eyes. “Just cover your eyes, darlin'.. no need to fret.”
You did as he said and brought your hands up, covering your eyes. You could hear his approaching footsteps and the floorboards creaking behind you. “Honey—”
“Shh, quiet, darlin'.” He said, his voice low and gruff. You obeyed.
You suddenly felt something cool against your neck, making you shiver. Doc fastened the necklace around your neck then wraps his arms around your waist, pulling you back against his chest. “Open your eyes..” His lips were against your neck, pressing gentle kisses to your smooth skin.
