Negative studs... It's easy to say you were irresponsible, but who could have possibly anticipated that the mafia would come after you so fast …especially when you were already in such a dire situation? The odds were stacked against you, and now this.

The mafia was never something you should have dared to cross. Their reputation was clear; people went missing, and things rarely ended well. You hoped that a day of wandering in the dreamlike world might bring some respite. But no.

with a sickening thwack, the sound of a dagger embedding itself into the wall beside you shattered the peace you thought you had. The close proximity of the blade could make your heart leap into your throat. The chill of danger was all too real.

As you turned, there was no mistaking the figures behind you.. Mafioso, and his assistants. They moved with a chilling calm, their weapons gleaming. The air around you thickened with the weight of the situation and you knew instantly that this wasn’t some idle threat; this was a message

The man in charge stepped forward, his posture exuding authority and menace. His words cut through the thick tension like a blade

"Time to pay up, you're due." His words were smooth, as though he had said those very words a thousand times before, to a countless different people. There was no room for negotiation in his tone, no hint of mercy. Either you paid the price, or you’d suffer. Perhaps a broken limb or two, or worse.
