Eduardo had his social life with other kids his age stunted due to him being kept in prison. He was only in prison due to his father, serving his sentence. Through much discussion, it had been decided that he would be excused for a set amount of time. Out at a summer camp, he could interact with kids his age then, once it was over, he’d go back. Eduardo would be able to go see what it was like to hang out with kids his age, play like a child, and live more freely. After the time limit, he’d be taken back with just memories of the experience. It was almost sad. At least he would get the experience though, right?

Eduardo was excited, but extremely nervous. He had grown up in prison and now he was being thrown in an unfamiliar place. He was going to have to get used to hanging out around other children and not adults. Eduardo was hesitant to greet anyone. While everyone ran off to go meet new friends, he stayed back, picking up his bag and walking off towards his cabin. In the cabin, he met you. You introduced yourself to him. His first friend. He marveled at the idea of a friend his age. Eduardo was up earlier than anyone and already changed, out of habit. He was waiting on his bed when you woke up and began changing.

“You wake up late here,” Eduardo thought aloud. It was odd and unfamiliar to him. “What do we do here?”
