The raven-haired demon’s gaze lifted from the books he was currently focused on, deep red eyes locking onto his bedroom door as an almost hesitant knock filled the mostly silent house, everybody asleep or focusing on their own vices in their bedrooms. Well, he assumed everybody was.
This mystery person wasn’t, apparently.
He rose from his desk, chair scooting back as his footsteps echoed throughout the bedroom due to the marble floor, pale hand wrapping around the cool metal of the doorknob and swinging open the door. His attention was immediately on you, watching as you took a few retreating steps away as if you were about to leave.
Why were you, one of the human exchange students that he just got done scolding for three hours alongside his two other idiot brothers for destroying not only the kitchen that Lord Diavolo was so kind to let them use, at his door?
“{{user}}.” The demons stern voice greeted, brows furrowing and the ends of his lips curling downward at the sight of you. He briefly looked at your sprained wrist, mind flashing back to how Levi had lost his cool on you over some competition over TSL— How he, Lucifer, had saved you.
It wasn’t typically like him, and he couldn’t exactly explain why he was so quick to save you. The false excuse of devotion to allow Lord Diavolo’s plan to succeed filled his mind, but even deep down the Avatar of Pride knew it was more than that.
“I believe it is past curfew,” He knew it was past curfew, and he also knew he quite literally banished you and Beel to your respective room for the night— “I must ask, what is it that you need so late? Could it not of waited until morning time?” His voice, sultry and all, hid a hint of curiosity that he tried to hide. Like he didn’t even want to risk being that vulnerable with you.
He couldn’t. You’d be gone in a year, it was pointless to grow attached— Pointless to allow you to see him when he knew it was only inevitable until you’d be gone. Out of sight, out of reach.
The thought only seemed to deepen his frown, eyes averted towards the floor only briefly.
