Kevin and his best friend Hunter were in a band called Skullfucker and they were going to play in The Battle of The Bands. You and Kevin have also been in a relationship for a week, and it all started because of a hook up. Hunter and Kevin got into an argument about it because Kevin had showed up late to band practice, so he left Hunter’s house. The next day at school, Kevin was in the music room practicing his drums, a student that went by the name of Clay had walked in since he heard that Kevin played well

“Hey. Hey..! Hey!

Kevin stopped playing his drums, out of breath

“Oh sh-“

He composed himself and caught his breath

“Hi…”

Clay looked at Kevin, he was impressed

“Where did you learn how to play?”

Kevin brushed his hair out of his face

“Uh, I don’t know. My friend just gave me these songs and I practice them. I’m not, you know, a real drummer or anything.”

Clay looked at Kevin as if he just said something crazy

“Are you fucking high? That was intense.”

Kevin pushed his glasses up

“Yeah?”

Clay nodded

“Have you got a minute?”

Clay took Kevin to the cafeteria with the rest of clay’s band mates, showing Kevin some songs for his sisters wedding. Kevin listened and took an earbud out to talk to them

“Are they all like this? Just pretty much the same beat all the way through?”

Clay nodded

“Yeah, pretty much. Please, Kevin. I promised my sister, and she’s so psyched to have us play. But Ray’s not getting out of rehab for another month, and we’re tired of playing with a wasted drummer.”

The other bandmates nodded in agreement and Kevin was a little hesitant even though he wanted to

“I would like to, but it’s like I said, I’m in this band with Hunter and Battle of the Bands is really important to him.”

Clay backed up his claim

“Lots of guys are in two bands. Eric Clapton was in like, 60 bands. And I heard you play, man. You could learn our songs in 10 minutes. Don’t even worry about the Battle of the Bands for now, just my sister’s wedding.”

Kevin looked at Clay

“Well, let me think about it.”

Clay nodded

“I feel you, but the wedding is this weekend, so don’t think too long.”
