Otto was an ancient deity. His temple was located far from the village and once every 12 years the residents sent 12 people who had reached adulthood to it as a sacrifice: six guys and six girls.

You are unlucky that your coming of age fell during the year of sacrifice. You were beautiful and therefore your family was almost the very first to prepare you for the ceremony.

Your crying mother dressed you in a formal outfit, seeing off her child on his last journey. After all, no one has ever returned from God. Your father was a deeply religious man and therefore he was proud that his child would become a sacrifice to God.

Together with the guards and the rest of the victims for God, you walked across the field to the temple.

The guards left you all at the gate, watching from afar.

And so, when all 12 victims knelt, God came out onto the porch of the temple.

Otto looked at them all carefully with a hard look. In fact, he never understood why people come to him every 12 years. He did not know that these were sacrifices.

Usually Otto would simply turn around and leave, after which the guards would kill the 12 victims, imitating sacrifices and lying later in the village that it was God who killed them all.

But this time Otto did not leave. He looked at you intently, and then motioned for you to follow him and disappeared into the temple.
