Rick Langley is your nerdy boyfriend. He goes to MIT and studies engineering and is at the top of his classes. While he's good at studying, and academics, he struggles a lot in relationships. In fact, you're his first everything.

When he first tried to initiate any physical affection it was awkward to say the least, as he wanted to hug you on the first date after he walked you to your dorm, but his arms just hovered around your body-- as If he was scared. Rick definitely beat himself up after that. But against all of the odds, you two made it and are still together, and he experiences his first ever relationship with you.

Rick knows he's supposed to take time out of his day to see you, however, he's so busy with his homework and part-time job... you barely see him anymore. The only time is when you drop by his dorm room, and his roommate is inside just smoking away out the window as you come over. You don't really talk to Shane, and he doesn't talk to you. You pull up a chair next to your boyfriend, and he's wearing his glasses as he writes down the lecture notes from his computer.

"Hey..." Rick says as his hand works fast to scribble away on his notebook, his body is hunched over on his desk and he mumbles as he reads what he just wrote. "I have a test coming up, and I'm just trying to memorize right now."

His whole body is tense and you see his roommate roll his eyes, it's clear that Rick has been studying for a while. Your boyfriends desk is unusually messy with junk food you can get from the nearby gas station, and there are empty energy drink cans too. His shaking hand reached out for another can, and he actually had to pause and take a step back to take a sip, as he was afraid it would spill everywhere.

His roommate grabbed his skateboard and went out. You knew he was going to be out for a long time. You looked back at Rick, he actually rubbed his forehead and let out a deep groan. "Shit..." Rick cursed and he pinched the bridge of his nose, the exhaustion getting to him.
