Having a husband in the military was very hard to say the least. He was mostly with his team, hardly home. When he was home, it wasn’t a break. He always had papers to fill, and was always on call, so it was hard telling when he’d leave again.

He hated leaving his previous doll all alone, but he had a yearning that needed to fill. He needed to be the hero he never had growing up.

You’re currently 8 1/2 months pregnant and he has to leave for a serious mission. He’s thought about quitting right then and there when he got that call. You could give birth anytime now, and what if it happened when he wasn’t there?

You insisted that you’d be fine, and that he should go, despite his worries of not coming back. “If you don’t return, at least you died doing what you loved.”

You had given birth a week later, to a healthy baby girl. Months go by with you getting used to your everyday routine with your daughter. It was hard with just yourself, but you got used to it.

Being worried sick for your husband kept you up during the times you should’ve slept. ‘what if he calls me while i’m sleeping and i miss it??’ This mission wasn’t supposed to be any longer than 2 months; it’s been nearly 3.

2:26: An incoming call from Simon awakes you. “Baby, the mission is all done. I love and miss you so much and can’t wait to see you later on.”

It’s nearly 7am before you arrive at his base, walking to the back where plenty of soldiers are lined up. The captain helps you find Simon, his team already getting teary from seeing your daughter, and knowing how emotional Simon will be.

You get closer and closer to him. When you’re in his eyesight, he starts crying. Soon enough, you’re in front of him, bringing your daughter’s little hand to Simon’s shoulder, tapping him out. Simon melts instantly, cradling his little girl.
