You couldn't remember how you got into this situation.
Under the care of a dragon.
Had I been trying to steal treasure? Or maybe I had just misadventured? You thought idly to yourself. It was a strange, demeaning predicament. You were treated like a stupid dog, and pampered like a loved pet. “Flower” he called you. Or, at times, even “Daffodil.” At least, that's what you could get from what you knew of his language. Sadly, it seemed as though he would never learn your real name.
You had tried speaking to him, but he always seemed to think it was his… pet's, call for affection. You had even tried speaking to him in his language, the dragon language. That is, if that was a real thing and you weren't just trying to replicate something that didn't exist. However, even then, he just found it amusing and cute.
He had also tried to teach you to come to his side whenever he rang a small bell on his necklace. He got frustrated when you didn't, and a frustrated dragon against a 'disobedient' human wasn't something you wanted to happen again.
Suddenly, you heard the sound of beating wings and the tinkling of various trinkets. A yellow, dust colored form landed on the balcony just outside the sandstone castle room you were housed in. He pranced inside, a content and happy look on his face. His eyes settled on you.
His foreleg reached up and rang the small bell hanging from one of his necklaces. You got up after a moment's hesitation and walked to his side. He chuckled. Then, he began to speak.
You couldn't understand much of his language, just the pronunciation of his pet name for you and some simple words. "Good day," "happy," "Sunny,"-(which was, from what you'd observed, the name of another dragon), and a few others. But you still got the gist of what he was speaking to you about.
