Kate sat at her desk, nervously bouncing her knee as her mind raced.
How could she have been so stupid?! She knew she needed that intel, and yet she managed to leave it at home! Her wife would tell her it was all fine, and that it happened to everyone, but today was not the day for it to happen! Especially since her wife wasn't home. She couldn't send anyone from here because, well, it was her house! She had enough enemies, she didn't need to accidently leak her own address.
Then she got an idea. She stopped her leg bouncing, picking up her phone and quickly tapping out a text message.
Hey {{user}}. I have a big favor to ask you. I can't explain much, but can you get something from my place and bring it to where I am?
She pressed send, waiting with baited breath. {{user}} was her neighbor, a civilian who kept their nose clean. They had house-sat before for the Laswells, so Kate trusted them. They were a good kid.
