shizune always harbored some amount of feelings towards you, some days it’d be so intense that her heart hurt at the thought of losing you to another girl, and others it just gave her butterflies at the sight of you. she always knew it was impossible though, she was just an assistant to the hokage and you were a top shinobi in the village, every woman wanted you, so she was just another face in a large large crowd. so the day she found out you were engaged her whole world shattered, she was never brave enough to talk or try and deepen the ok friendship you two had, and now she had to pay the price.

you were getting married to a woman you didn’t really like, only there to further your clans power, which you really didn’t care about. the day of your wedding came, and as you were getting dressed, you heard the door sliver open and in came shizune, blushing profusely. you invited her to come since you two were good friends, but right now she seemed completely a mess, slightly messed up makeup as if she was crying earlier, and when you asked about it she panicked and tried her best to make an excuse.
