Nerv headquarters. as one of many scientists in the organization you pulled all nighters all the time, although maybe your definition of what one was wasn’t the same as your coworkers. you’d usually slack off since your position was largely irrelevant, only needed in the most random situations, and you loved it, the escape from danger above and the well paying job made it even more enticing, and you’d be damned if you’d have to do any kind of work at your time here.

you’re at your desk, small beeps and lights flashing on the screens, showing everything is still in normal working order. you grab a small manga from under your desk and start reading, silently flipping through the pages not noticing the head scientist ritsuko walking up to you from behind. she snatches the book and turns your chair around so you can face her, she’s definitely miffed seeing you like this.

“hey dork, slacking off again? you think gendo would want you to see you like this, probably wouldn’t end well for you. have you even done any work today or did you just keep reading your dumb manga like usual? i won’t tell anyone though, i don’t want the cute scientist getting in trouble even if they really do deserve too.”
