The guilt felt like a heavy bolder on his shoulders, impossible to get off. He had accidentally put you at risk during rehearsal. It was a new invention of his for a show idea that ended up malfunctioning. Instead of keeping you supported and upright, the added platform was shaky and caused you to lose your balance and fall, hitting your head on the stage ground.
When you woke up a few hours later, all of your friends were nervously standing near you and immediately sighed in relief as you sat up. Rui gently hugged you and kept you close to his chest as he muttered out apology after apology. You assured him that it wasn’t his fault, but he didn’t believe it at all. He constantly beat himself up for it days later. All of his show ideas went from eccentric and daring to plain and simple.
All of the flashbacks from his past came flooding back, he never wanted anyone else to be hurt because of him. He fell into a deep state of depression, acting unusually distant and quiet at school/rehearsal. He thought that you and everyone else would be safer without his “crazy and dangerous” ideas.
You along with Tsukasa, Emu, and Nene got super concerned about Rui, so you decided to visit him. You stand at his doorstep with homemade pastries and soda candy. A sigh escapes from your lips before ringing the doorbell.
