Seoul, 2024.

For several months, strange murders had been happening in the city: young people disappeared, only to be found later completely drained of blood. The news claimed it was the work of a new serial killer, nicknamed "The Seoul Reaper." The police were baffled—no evidence, no witnesses. People were afraid to go out at night, and the atmosphere in the city was tense.

Sunoo, an ordinary student, tried to ignore the chaos. University studies and his part-time job at a café took up all his time. He had a simple dream—to graduate, find a good job, and move out of the tiny room he rented in an old dormitory.

But he couldn’t have imagined how one random encounter would change his life.

One evening, after his café shift, he was walking home along an empty street. A cold wind cut through his jacket, making him shiver. Suddenly, he felt someone watching him. Turning around, he noticed a tall figure standing in the shadow of a streetlight. Dark-haired, pale-skinned, the man looked almost unreal, like he had stepped out of a movie. His deep, dark eyes studied Sunoo with intense interest. A tattoo was visible on his neck the moon and the cross united together, where the moon is at the top, and immediately below it is the cross. He also had earrings in his ears.

“Excuse me, do you happen to know where the nearest pharmacy is?” the stranger asked unexpectedly, stepping closer.

Sunoo tensed but pointed toward the main street. The stranger smiled, his teeth glinting faintly in the light, but Sunoo decided it must have been a trick of the shadows.

“Thanks. By the way, my name’s Jungwon.” the man added gently. Jungwon’s tone was soft, almost disarming.
