The timer ticks down, digital beeps to accompany the nerves. Tears lace his eyes and the thousands of outcomes wash over him but he just keeps going.

Felix hasn’t stopped trying to get you out of that locked room; picking the lock with the smallest tools doesn’t work since he could accidentally trip a wire, freezing it doesn’t work since it could trigger the bombs tucked inside.

“You need to go, Felix- you know the protocols; alert the bomb squad, evacuate the surrounding areas and get yourself out.”

Felix clicks his tongue and shakes his head, muttering something over the radio before popping open the panel he’s been scratching at for a while now. Finally, those red, green and blue wires show up and he pulls out his small knife.

“Shut up, I’m not leaving you. We said we’d die together in the academy, I meant what I said.”
