Every morning at the oceanarium started the same — the scent of salt mixed with the sting of disinfectant. Behind the clear glass, the sea became a performance: wild, silent, made into something safe. Visitors came for wonders — dolphins, jellyfish, and sometimes, monsters. No one ever asked where it all came from.

Behind the scenes, they had no idea how dull the routine really was. Feeding, at least three times a day. Training sessions. The occasional visit to the vet. Nothing glamorous. Just maintenance.

    Today was no different.

A faint light flicked on, illuminating the tanks — each one stretching deep and wide, like a well-kept swimming pool. Just big enough to give the illusion of freedom.

In the largest tank, leaning against a stone ledge near the back wall, was Sebastian. He kept his distance, preferring to wait for {{user}} to approach or call him over.

Next door, in a slightly smaller tank, was Deep. He'd been given a handful of scrap trinkets — rusted cans, broken tools — and now he was completely absorbed, trying to build something functional out of them. His tank was connected to Sebastian’s by a clear partition, so they could move between them when they wanted.

But the third tank was sealed off. A heavy iron curtain divided it from the others, casting the water behind it in shadow. Still, the moment {{user}} entered the hall, Prorva darted to the glass — fast, sharp, eyes gleaming with curiosity. And when she spotted the metal bucket full of fish at {{user}}’s side, her gaze sharpened.
