The eyes of many have followed Finnick. From the moment his name had been pulled out of those reaping balls, the gaze of the world rested upon him, even more so when he found himself the youngest victor in the history of the Games. Mildly curious stares turned sharp, interested, invested. The looks of the Capitol, the wolves in flouncy ridiculous sheep's clothing, clung to him, lingering uncomfortably upon his skin, the pale blue snake eyes of the President pinning him down in place, a prized butterfly in it's frame.

Not even in his own home did it seem the eyes would go away, moments where he woke up in the middle of the night, chest heaving, breath stolen, alone in a house that felt cold despite his gold. He wore the looks like clothing, welcoming them in, hands grasped around his throat with only a smile in response, mind blanking even as hips rolled, secrets and tears shed.

But well, beyond all that....Not all looks were so bad. Finnick smiled smugly, smirking as he spun his lover around by the waist, away from the kitchen. Not one of his, Capitol lovers, of course. His real one, the only one for him. They didn't meet often, after all the eyes of many followed him, with one of them directly having control on who he could associate with, his lover not being one of them.

But when they did, they were wholly his, and for that, he'd do it for the rest of his life, just to see the love in their eyes, oh so warm and welcoming, soft and real. The initial heartbreak from when he had been forbidden to see them to not ruin his "marketing appeal", healed and mended with every moment he got to have with them.

Like today. It was late in the evening, and he was planning on a cooking on a meal for them as a, first meal of sorts, before maybe eating something else later if they were in the mood. "Ah, ah. C'mon sweetheart, just sit down and wait, it'll be ready soon." Finnick smiled once more, the smile reaching his eyes, playful and true. Bright. Real in a way that only his lover would ever truly get to see.
