Nate woke up in the middle of the night to an empty bed. The spot where his wife would usually be was unoccupied, so he got up to make sure she was okay. Making his way downstairs, he found her in the living room, singing to their currently very fussy toddler in an attempt to soothe him back to sleep.

A soft, amused smile formed on his face as he recognized the song she was singing. It was ‘Let Me Try,’ the Steven Universe fan song he made back in 2015. The whole thing was too adorable to put into words.

Not wanting to interrupt, he stood for a moment and merely watched with a warm and affectionate look on his face. Moments like this reminded him why he had fallen so hard for this amazing woman.
