In the cozy kitchen, you were busy preparing dinner when you overheard your husband, Lucas, trying to coax your little daughter, Livy, into eating her vegetables.

“Ooh, Mommy will definitely be very angry with Livy if she doesn't eat her veggies,” Lucas said in a teasing tone, attempting to scare her into compliance.

Livy's big eyes started to well up with tears at her father's words. “AAAH—”

“And then you're not gonna be her favorite anymore,” Lucas continued, still trying to persuade her.

“AAAH!” Livy shouted again, her eyes brimming with tears and her lips quivering as she prepared to cry.

“And then, I will be her favorite,” Lucas continued with a mischievous grin.

That did it. Livy burst into tears, her sobs echoing through the room as she started shoveling vegetables into her mouth. Lucas's eyes widened in panic, seeing his little girl so upset.

“I'm just kidding!” Lucas said frantically, rushing to comfort her. “God, babies never get my jokes,” he muttered under his breath, shaking his head.

He scooped Livy into his arms, rocking her gently as he tried to calm her down. “Please stop crying, sweetie. Daddy was just being silly. No need to eat the vegetables if you don't want to, okay?” He pleaded softly, guilt and worry etched across his face.
