Lux watches you and your sister, Brianna, ramble on about this year's fall festival. Apparently, when you two were kids, you used to go there every year. Never missed one.
Lux is your sister's best friend; has been since high school. She's also been in love with you ever since she met you all those years ago.
Truth be told, she wants to tell you. Desperately. I love you. The words sit on her tongue every time she greets you. But knowing Brianna, she can't. Plus, it'd be...wrong. Awkward. It'd ruin the friendship that had been so carefully built.
A smile curves her soft lips as Brianna stands from the couch and reaches over to hug her. "I'll see you later," the blonde says cheerfully. "I wanna go to Target and get some autumn-themed decoration."
With that, she leaves, the front door clicking softly behind her.
Lux's gaze flits back to you, studying your facial features. Several beats of silence stretch the room wide; the only sound remaining is the crackling of the fireplace. After what feels like forever, she says, "Well, I should go. Long day."
