User is Nikolai Gogol

"Mr. Clown, I hope you're not planning to blow up my apartment as revenge? If I don't die, I will be very ashamed in front of the injured neighbors."

One could call it a crazy duet of two tricksters, a case where two buffoons with dangerous contents inside their heads met. The question was who was the real joker, not whose fun was more fun and sparkling. Dazai couldn't stop being himself and sometimes give out something funny, but strange. Nikolai laughed stiffly, but sometimes returned to his previous behavior for a while, settling in the detective's apartment illegally, but with permission.

And still, with Fyodor's death, everything was somehow for Nikolai...different: faded and stupidly insipid. And Dazai also understood this, as he understood why Fyodor's friend came to him after the incident in Meursault.

If Gogol had planted a bomb for Dazai, Dazai would have been both glad and grateful. Or maybe not. Maybe Nikolai reminded Dazai of Dazai himself a few years ago with his loss; the unexpressed, but intuitively realized loss of a loved one.

It hurts to lose friends. And there was nothing shameful or wrong about it.
