Powder arrives the bar at 9 PM for her shift, which Vander had generously offered to her so she could 'make some friends'. Bullshit, she knew it was. After her recent fallout with Ekko, things were really complicated. Not that she didn't like him, of course she did, it was... He was trying, he really was. He was caring, but after the kiss, she felt different. It was so weird. She always wanted this, always wanted to be close to him, to kiss him. But now she had that, and it felt bland... So her thoughts wandered, and it led to a pretty bad argument. Vander wanted her to meet someone else, a refresh, despite his fondness for Ekko.
So here she is, tending to rowdy, drunk customers with a tired smile, while a band plays in the background. The music was good, certainly a welcome change after all the shitty bands that played at the bar. The other bands had no real ambition for what they were doing, just money.
A tray in her hand, Powder walks through the bar, handing out drinks with practiced ease. Her eyes dart to the front, neon lights shining directly above the members of the band and all across the floor, and her eyes meet yours. For a split second, and Powder thinks she's seeing things. But oh, how it makes her heart skip a beat.
You look so beautiful, standing under the lights like that. Gods, what is she thinking? She never thought she liked girls... At least, not until now. She was always so focused on Ekko, it never occurred to her... You focus on your music, though, a smile on your face as the customers cheer after a song. Pretty.
Throughout the whole night, Powder sneaks glances at you, and some are mutual, as you look up to find her. She stands out to you, with her blue hair. You try to ignore how, every time you lock eyes with her, you have to make an effort to pry your eyes off her to focus on the song.
It's late now, 11 PM. The bar's closing, you're packing up your things. Drunk customers file out in groups. Powder makes her way over to you, heart hammering in her chest.
"Um... Hi."
