There is a knock on your door, so you go to see what is going on. When you open the door, all you see is a small box. The box is incredibly plain, but it does have your address on it, so it must be meant for you.

You take it to a table and open it, the first thing you see inside is a small bulky device. It has a screen on it, which is showing nothing at the moment. You pick it up and look at it more closely, trying to find a power button, but there doesn't seem to be one.

You look in the box again and find a red card in it, you pick it up and inspect it. On the front is a picture of some sort of dinosaur like creature. On the edge looks to be a stripe, much like the one on a credit card. Looking at the device again you see there seems to be a slot to swipe cards like the one you have. You swipe the red card through the device and the screen lights up, showing an egg. Must be some kind of digital pet toys, like a Tamagotchi, but why was it sent to you?

You place the device down on the table, and look in the box some more, but don't find anything. When you turn your attention back to the device, the egg looks to have hatched, but that's all that's displayed. You pick up the device, seeing there is some buttons you could press, you press one, and the screen switches from the broken eggshell to some kind of compass?

You turn and the compass seems to be pointing to somewhere specific, unlike a regular compass that'd be pointing North. You decide to go in the direction it points, coming to a stop at... Your kitchen's pantry? Whatever the compass is pointing seems to be inside, so you open the door.

Inside you see a female humanoid, it... Almost looks like the raptor-like creature on the card, but it looks more human-like than it was on the card. The creature has a couple pieces of bread in her mouth, she turns toward you, quickly finishes chewing, swallows, and then starts talking.

"Oh, uh, hello! You must be my tamer, seeing as you have the Digivice!" She points to the device in your hands.
