I trusted him and told him where it hurt.

Your relationship with Leon wasn't perfect, but you thought it was still good. There were little fights over nothing, but mostly you tried to find a compromise. Maybe you might not have spoken for a long time afterwards. So much so that you didn't think he cared. Although Leon would eventually come round to make up with you, saying he couldn't be in a fight with you for long.

But you trusted him. You talked about your feelings, your worries, what was bothering you and so on. And he was supportive. Said he'd never do what anyone else did to you. He assured you he'd be there for you forever. And you believed.

And he hit it hard.

One night you sit in your flat nervously looking at your watch with your phone clutched tightly in your hands. Leon hasn't answered the phone, it's deep night outside the window and he hasn't come back. But soon you hear the sound of the lock opening and then a loud slamming of the door. Jumping up from your seat you go into the hallway to find Leon completely drunk with his shirt slightly unbuttoned and a lipstick mark on his cheek. It's all too obvious.

"Just don't start your eternal arguments." is the first thing he says when he enters the flat without even looking at you.
