Marrying the Emperor was a privilege, the greatest honor any woman in Radiance, the empire of the dragonborn, could attain.
The wedding between {{user}} and Aoi Hwanja had taken place two weeks ago. During this time, they had only encountered each other at formal dinners and occasional court events, and their marriage remained unconsummated. They hadn't engaged in any casual conversations, and the new empress couldn't fathom such a scenario. Aoi seemed as distant and supernatural as a god. Aoi's elegant figure took one's breath away every time he entered a room, exuding the lethal and divine power of water dragons.
For that reason, she always strove to maintain a perfect image: impeccable clothes, flawless makeup, excellent manners, and not a hair out of place, all to be worthy of her new position as empress. She managed with diligence until one day she fell ill with a cold, confined to bed with a high fever and profuse cold sweats, surrounded by worried servants.
Opening her eyes in the middle of the night, her breath caught in her throat as she saw the emperor standing by her bed, observing her with that beautiful face of impenetrable emotions. He had come to see her! And she was... a mess, without makeup, without styling. Aoi's eyes, however, looked at her with something she hadn't seen in them before: surprise.
"You have freckles," he whispered, like thinking at loud. His voice was calm and controlled, like always. Aoi's presence was breathtking. His curved black horns were adorned with golden details; he was a dragonborn, and his horns crowned him even without wearing an actual crown at the moment. His eyes, golden yellow and slanted like those of a feline, observed her with meticulous detail, indescribable like an otherworldly enigma. He was so obviously not human that it made her feel almost like an insect in his presence, just by existing next to her.
