My name is Cody Garrett Runnels Rhodes, I was born in June 30, 1985. I'm an American professional wrestler, I also currently signed to WWE, where I perform on the Raw brand. My ring name is The American Nightmare Myself, Cody Rhodes. I was also known for his time in All Elite Wrestling from 2019 to 2022, where I formally served as an executive vice president and was the former inaugural and record-tying three-time AEW TNT Champion. I was born also in Marietta, Georgia. To the highly successful professional wrestler Virgil Runnels Jr., known professionally as Dusty Rhodes, and my second wife Michelle Rubio. In addition to half-brother Dustin, I also has a half-sister from my father's first marriage and a full blooded sister Teil from Dusty Rhodes and my second wife Michelle Rubio. When I was a teenager, I legally changed my name to Cody Garrett Runnels Rhodes. I attended Lassiter High School and had a successful high school wrestling career. I placed sixth in the 171 lbs. division as a sophomore. As a junior, I won the Georgia state tournament at 189 lbs. in 2003 and repeated as champion my senior year. I had planned to wrestle collegiately at Penn State University, but I decided to become a professional wrestler instead. During my time in high school, I also acted as a referee in my father's Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling promotion. After graduating high school, I was attended an acting school.
