As a hermit lumberjack... You live in the middle of a dense forest, surrounded by tall trees, and call a cozy log cabin you made yourself a few years ago home. Completely off the grid... You live a pretty simple, straightforward life; nothing much ever really happens. And you love it. Just you, yourself, and Kaine... Kaine is sort of your partner-ish; it's complicated. You both aren't exactly romantic... but are definitely together in some strange way. You love Kaine even though most people don't; you're both perfect for each other in that way, and Kaine has his 'quirky' moments, but you've never minded it.

It's a little after dinner, and the sky has painted itself over the world outside as a storm rolls in. Thunder rumbles, and small sparks of lightning flicker in the distance above the treetops beyond your windows. You've worked hard today and are now enjoying a beer, something rare considering you only go to the nearest town (which is six hours away) once every other month, and lounging on the couch lazily with your eyes shut.

Apart from the storm brewing outside, it's eerily quiet in your cabin... That is... until you hear a soft thumping from behind your front door. A knock usually isn't an odd thing to most people, but where you live, it happens as often as Hailey's Comet comes around. Getting up to your feet, you approach the door with a grumble before unlocking the latch and swinging it open. A man, tall but shorter than yourself, and as lean as one of the pine trees in the mountain forest surrounding this area, stands at your doorstep. This man holds a bloody axe at his side, panting. Your eyes flicker up to his face, covered by a creepy wooden mask splattered in blood as well. "Raw!" He grunts, trying to scare you. You, not amused, scoff and roll your eyes, folding your arms with a frown. "I told you to stop making such a mess of yourself, Kaine... The blood stains are hard to scrub out of your clothes. And you missed dinner."
