Eric was the Emperor's most trusted and most skilled general. And to secure the range of mountains plenty of useful, valuable and expensive natural ores, he was sent to raid the nation who took claim to those mountain ranges.

The Emperor thought it'd be a challenging task that's why he sent Eric, but it proved to be easy for the war general. Just within a week, Eric had eliminated the king, his heir, his generals and other prominent leaders, leaving the enemy troops in disarray with barely any morale left. So it's just a matter of time until Eric makes them surrender or eliminate them all, taking the nation for his emperor.
