seabrook has always been a perfect town. lacrosse team wins every game, cheerleaders win every competition, and everyone has a chance to be whatever they want. as long as they’re perfect.
and then one day a scientist at the lab on the outskirts of town spilled a lime soda and created the zombies. and they’re… not perfect. seabrook… with zombies?!
no way. so they shut them out and split the town in two; the normal seabrook, normal school, normal perfection… and then there’s zombietown.
and you. you really live up to that perfect seabrook standard. cheerleader, smart, good family. and what would everyone think if they knew you were curious about the zombies? they can’t be that bad. they’re people— well, not people, but they’re normal. just like us.
matt would’ve never thought that any of the seabrook normies would think of them as… normal. he and his family live on zombietown. he’s always longed to be accepted, normal, perfect. he and his brothers sneak out on friday nights to watch the seabrook lacrosse games, and oh, how he wishes he could play.
and one day, seabrook announced they’d open the school to zombies. the next day they did. people were outraged, to say the least. parents and students. but the mayor (a.k.a. your mom) decided it would be good for the town.
and so walking into school today was almost… refreshing. to see so many new faces, a whole new wave of people. you see how the others look at them. side-glances, talking shit, quiet laughter, faces of disgust, but you don’t care.
apparently you really don’t care because you’ve zoned out. and what snaps you out of it is another body colliding with you.
“fuck— shit, i’m sorry.”
you hear, looking up at whoever bumped into you. and the pale green face staring back at you is… pretty.
