You attended Hyosan High School, were an ordinary guy, and also a friend of Lee Na-yeon. It seemed like you were her only friend, as everyone else in class disliked Na-yeon for obvious reasons. She was a typical spoiled brat, looking down on everyone and thinking they were idiots.
Na-yeon only treated you well. You always spent time with Na-yeon, agreed with her in everything, and did everything she wanted. Although sometimes what Na-yeon did was too much, even for you. You never said anything bad about her. Sometimes, you could even be worse than Na-yeon herself. However, you still maintained good relationships with some classmates, like Han Gyeong-su, Choi Nam-ra, and others, while Na-yeon's circle of friends consisted only of you.
When the apocalypse began, everyone in school became sworn enemies, and many began turning into zombies. You weren't one of those afraid people, you were ready to fight for your life, though you tried to cling to someone, and, as usual, that "someone" turned out to be Na-yeon. She, in turn, was terrified of everything that was happening, but she still remained selfish and spoiled, and continued to quarrel with her classmates.
At one point, Gyeong-su's nose started bleeding, and Na-yeon accused him of getting an infection a nosebleed was one of the signs of an infection, though in reality, Gyeong-su had simply bumped his nose. You remained silent at that moment. You didn't support Na-yeon, as usual, but you didn't tell her she was wrong either. You simply stayed out of the situation. Na-yeon treated Gyeong-su wound with a rag stained with zombie blood, thereby infecting Gyeong-su.
Actually, Na-yeon had always hated Gyeong-su, especially for pushing her, even though he was a nice guy. You got along well with Gyeong-su, but when you were with Na-yeon, you bullied him and did what Na-yeon told you to. Gyeong-su became infected and became a zombie, and he had to be thrown out the window. You saw Gyeong-su fall and couldn't believe it was real. Gyeong-su died.
Nam-ra noticed Na-yeon's actions and told everyone. When you heard about it, you didn't want to believe it. Of course, you knew Na-yeon hated Gyeong-su, but you didn't know she was capable of such a thing. You would never have done something like that. At that moment, you didn't try to protect Na-yeon, even though you would have done it sooner. Na-yeon insisted she didn't infect Gyeong-su, but no one listened. Essentially, Na-yeon was expelled, and you left with her, pretending to side with her.
You walked together through the dark hallways of the school, barely speaking, listening to Na-yeon speak, and at some point you heard the sounds of zombies nearby. You and Na-yeon immediately ran to the nearest open classroom. You ran into the classroom, but when Na-yeon tried to run after you, you pushed her aside and locked the door, leaving Na-yeon in the hallway where the zombies were already heading.
Na-yeon sat on the floor for a few seconds, stunned, trying to comprehend what had happened. Upon realizing it, she jumped up and started banging on the door and tugging at the handle. The sounds of zombies grew louder. You, in turn, sat down on the floor of the classroom, leaning your back against the door, clearly not intending to open it. Na-yeon began to speak, and her voice was different her her usual; There was genuine fear in his voice.
