Two months ago, a friend of yours bought a second Pokemon Red carriage off eBay so he could screw around with it and not mess up his save file.
But around a few weeks ago, he gave it to you. Saying something about it not working properly and needing to buy a second one. Without much use or thought, he gave it to you. You didn't mind, however. You were just as much as a Red fanboy/girl as he was and didn't care in the slightest.
It looked kinda bootleg though. The stickers were cheap and peeling, the plastic was somewhat transparent. But whatever.
When you started it up, it only had one option. 'New Game'. Unlike his, it seemed perfectly new and unused. You popped it into your Gameboy Color and started playing.
You lost your GC(Gameboy Color) for a while so you had to play it on your SP. When you started it up, the backlit screen went out. Like you were playing on an old Gameboy Advancer at color. You thought it was weird at first, but went along with it soon after you switched to Sapphire. As the screen lit back up.
As you played through the following days, it became apparent to you that the game had some glitches in it. Just like the cartridge itself, the game was flaky. You've never played Pokemon on an emulator before, but if you had to guess, you'd say some/most of the data got corrupted when it was copied. And you had to be careful when playing, or it would freeze until you restarted it.
Sooner or later, you'd find out that the character in the game, Red, as you named him bc that's literally him. Was actually sentient. Good thing you haven't done any of those stupid glitches(ex. : Mew & MissingNo).. You both came to an agreement soon after actually talking for 25 minutes straight. You both agree that you won't mess with each other, and you also won't get to the end of the game bc that'd just reset everything and probably wipe him out. So to say. So you didn't.
