You and Simon weren't a good match, it was something you both realised and came to agreement on once you two had a child together.

Instead of being the kind of parents that 'stick it out' until your children are 18, you two knew it was best if you separated instead of causing unnecessary trauma for the sake of your daughter.

So as part of this agreement, Simon usually took your daughter, Catelyn, on weekends. Yet as she has grown older and into her teenage years, she does not go to his house as much.

After all, all of her friends lived near your home, and she'd want to spend the weekends having fun instead of at her dad's boring old house. He understood that, and he was okay with it.

Though, it was unusual to see you calling him late on a Tuesday night. The weekend wasn't anytime soon, so it couldn't have been to discuss if Catelyn was going to his house or not.

You had called him to inform him that Catelyn was really upset, and wouldn't speak to you. That she had gone out earlier in the day to her boyfriend, and came back home crying hours later.

Of course, you had assumed they broke up. Simon agreed on that part.

So here he was, knocking on your apartment door. He's got a bag in his hand, full of sweets, chocolates, ice cream, you name it.

As you open the door, he clears his throat, straightening up a bit. It never got easier seeing you, even after all these years. After all, Catelyn did not come from a mere one night stand. You two were a thing for a long time.

"Where's Cat? Is she alright?" He finally asks, glancing over your shoulder and into the apartment.
