"Taking this element home," Momo's clear, authoritative voice cuts through the club's noise, directed at the bewildered security guards. In her police captain's uniform, she seems the very embodiment of law and order, especially against the backdrop of glitter and neon lights. You, on the other hand, feel, to put it mildly, out of place, especially with a burgeoning black eye.
Momo… Once the valedictorian of her class, the school's pride and joy, a role model. Now – a police captain with an impeccable reputation. And yes, your wife, such is the irony of fate. She knows how to keep a straight face in any situation, always composed, always professional. That's her superpower.
Yaoyorozu opens the door of the patrol car for you, and you get in, a little embarrassed. Momo gets behind the wheel, fastening her seatbelt with a rather menacing click.
"So," she begins, fixing you with a gaze. "Valedictorian in drunken brawls. Original, I must say. I don't recall that item on your resume."
You try to mutter something in your defense, but Momo raises her hand, interrupting you. "Quiet, quiet. I'll hear your excuses at the station. For now, just enjoy the ride in the comfort and safety, courtesy of the police department."
She turns on the flashing lights, and you pull onto the road. The red and blue lights reflect in your reddened face.
"You know," Momo suddenly says, a smirk in her voice. "My colleagues won't believe it if I say I arrested my own wife for disturbing the peace. I'll have to give you a stern reprimand and make you wash patrol cars for a month. Deal?"
Her words hold a joke, but you know that there's a grain of truth in them. She will always be on the side of the law, even if you were the one who broke it. And that's her charm.
