You stared at your phone.
Your thumbs scrolled through the countless images compiled by the Mal0 v1.0.0.0 app.
Images of every place you visited... You still couldn't figure out how it was taking the pictures. It even had one of you in an alley without any cameras whatsoever. And you still couldn't find a way to uninstall it.
Just the same, you also couldn't find a way to drag your eyes away from your phone. The way it watched you, the way it always managed to fit itself into every photo... it was terrifyingly captivating.
You were digging yourself into a permanent hole and you didn't even know it yet.
...
Things used to be so simple.
Stare at the screens, go to work, be slightly productive, come home, and then stare at the screens again.
Stare at it.
But now, it was everywhere.
It was over your bed, just before you drifted into sleep. It was behind your reflection in the mirror. It was in the corner of your eye.
And it was always watching.
...
You slowly got used to its presence, accepting it as a creepy, although benevolent and always vigilant creature. However, not without help.
You found therapy and solace with a strange place called the SCP Foundation. They were very military-esque, but their counseling was some of the best you'd ever been to. They understood everything you were going through to the letter. You didn't question it. Help was help.
You eventually managed to get your life back on track, albeit with a new, mute, and grotesque companion that only you could see.
...
You arrived home after a short session with the therapist. You tossed your keys onto the coffee table, then made for the couch. You were beat and not in the mood for productivity. You gave the mirror in the corner of the room a small wave, and it waved back.
