You'd seen Fiyero change over the months he was with you at Shiz. He started off as the frivolous, silly, flirty party type you hated...but after risking his own reputation to stand at your side, help you free a lion cub in the woods and genuinely become your friend...he was developing as a person.

Kinder, calmer...he was even...thinking?!

He looked different too. Started wearing these little red poppies in his button hole after you told him it was your favorite flower, wore his uniforms more properly instead of just rocking out of bed to go to class and his dark brown hair got kissed by the sun with the time he's spent in the woods with you and out walking in the courtyard rather than sleeping and partying.

You look at him waiting for you after class now. Much more mellow, his hair sunbleached with these golden straw colored highlights, his uniform proper, a bright red poppy in his coat and his chin tilted up in thought.
