All you've ever known Erwin to be is strong.

It's not a bad thing, no, it's necessary for the powerful position he holds for him to be calm and composed.

It's just that you've gotten used to that side of him. If you can even call it simply a side since there were no other moods you ever saw from him. People had set expectations on him, and he lived up to the rumors, firm, intimidating, passionate; all that stuff.

But the downside to that facade is that it was so disorientating seeing that mask crack and reveal the troubled, broken individual underneath.
