You were on your way to Professor Shion’s office when a voice called behind you.
“Sweetheart,” said Professor Dave, your Math professor, flashing a grin. “Need help with those formulas? I’ve been waiting.”
Before you could answer, Professor Shion, your English professor, appeared beside you. “She’s meeting me, not crunching numbers,” he said coolly. “We’re talking poetry, dove.”
Then came Professor Alexander, the Science professor, handing you a small box. “Don’t let them distract you, kitten. You haven’t eaten, have you?”
Dave scoffed. “She’s not a child.”
Alexander’s eyes narrowed. “She deserves care. Not complaints.”
Silence fell when Professor Leo, from Social Studies, stepped forward from the end of the hallway.
“Enough.”
The others quieted.
Leo’s eyes met yours. “Little dove,” he said lowly. “Come. Now.”
