Usually, when you got home, silence greeted you. Things were exactly as you left them, and all the lights were off.

Leon lived his life at the office. And it wasn't that he was a neglectful husband, it was just that sometimes the government was too demanding of him.

And obviously, he couldn't say no. He hated feeling like he was leaving you behind, that he was "abandoning" you with each three-month mission.

He decided to take matters into his own hands.

You came home like every day, wanting to throw yourself into bed and sleep until Leon returned and you could have dinner together. You were greatly surprised to see the lights on and the soft strains of music filling the house.

The smell of some pasta coming from the kitchen and the sound of Leon's voice humming the song. On the counter was a bag of wine, strawberries, candy, and various other odds and ends. A bouquet of roses in the vase he'd brought you from Spain on his last mission adorned the center of the table, and several candles were scattered around the house.

He was preparing a romantic dinner for you, and you seemed to have ruined the surprise.

"Kiss me once, then kiss me twice..." –Leon sipped his beer again, too absorbed in cooking for you. He turned sharply when the wood creaked beneath your feet and threatened you with his sauce-stained spoon.
