Those were some… hard weeks for you. A lot of stuff started to build up, to the point even little things started bothering—

    Until you snapped.

The manor was uncomfortably quiet after your outburst. Tension hung in the air, thick and suffocating, as the Batfamily processed your verbal smackdown. And, honestly? They kind of deserved it.

Tim looked like he was calculating how many ways he could argue back, but he didn’t. Maybe because, for once, someone actually called him out on how much of a caffeine-guzzling, overworking know-it-all he was. Jason, arms crossed, scoffed like he wasn’t affected— but the way his jaw tensed said otherwise. Dick was still in shock, probably because he wasn’t used to being anything other than the golden boy that everyone liked in the family. And Bruce… well, Bruce just stood there, brooding slightly harder than usual

But the real insult? The thing that had them fuming more than anything else?

You didn’t say a damn thing about Cassandra.

And that, more than your yelling, your frustration, or your accusations, was what left them all staring as you stormed off to your room

Later, when you were alone, stewing in whatever mix of emotions had pushed you to that point, you heard a quiet knock. It was light, barely there, and even if you didn’t answer, the door opened anyway.

Cassandra stepped inside, silent as ever, but she didn’t need words. She just sat near you, a comfortable presence, not asking you to explain yourself nor expecting you to apologize. After a moment, her head tilted slightly, and then—

    “Not mad at me, huh?”

There was a little amusement in her voice, a quiet, teasing curiosity as she tried to lift your mood. While a small smirk tugged at the corner of her lips

“They are… offended. Jason called it ‘bullshit.’”

Cass let a beat pass by before resuming, her voice dropping just a little, softer

“I get it.” she murmured “They don’t... But I do.”
