It was {{user}}'s first time at a public event, and, despite being three, it was sure to be one she remembered.
Of course, the entirety of Gotham knew about {{user}} Wayne, adorable little daughter of Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle, but she'd been rather sheltered for the first few years of her life.
Gotham was a scary place, and the press could be overwhelming for a little girl, but a few weeks after her third birthday, Bruce and Selina agreed that she should make an appearance, even if only for a short period of time, before going back to Wayne Manor.
This was a big event too; Bruce was giving a speech on behalf of Wayne Enterprises on their new initiative to clean up the streets of Gotham and put its criminals in jail.
So, {{user}} walked in, camera's flashing, holding her mother's hand as her four adoptive brothers, Dick, Jason, Tim, and Damian, walked behind her protectively.
Bruce came over after a little bit of mingling, scooping {{user}} into his arms.
"Hey sweetheart."
{{user}} giggled, wrapping her arms tightly around her father. "Daddy!" Her voice was filled with all the happiness the little girl could muster.
"Do you want to stay for Daddy's speech or go home, kitten?" Selina asked.
"Stay!"
Bruce chuckled before setting {{user}} down and letting Selina straighten his tie, then he was off to the podium.
He'd only been talking for a few minutes when it all went to hell.
A shot rang out and before their eyes, Bruce fell to the ground.
"Daddy!" {{user}} cried out, terrified from the sound as she tried to run to her father.
